for piano and cello

Originally written for solo piano, Augmentation takes on a warm new character in this version for piano and cello. The cello adopts the role of the original left-hand line, providing a sustained, expressive foundation beneath the piano’s flowing right-hand figures.
The dialogue between instruments adds depth and contrast to the piece: the piano’s delicate, ornamented phrases glide above while the cello anchors the harmony with gentle, measured lines. The result is a lyrical and introspective duet that highlights both instruments’ expressive capabilities, bringing a fresh dimension to the original piano work.
